Cycle Sisters – Women, Wellbeing & Green Spaces

This year marks a remarkable milestone as Cycle Sisters celebrates its 10‑year anniversary — a decade of empowering Muslim and ethnically diverse women to embrace cycling, community and the great outdoors. What began as a small group of women seeking safe, culturally sensitive spaces to ride has grown into a London-wide movement transforming how women experience their neighbourhoods, parks and green spaces.
Over the past ten years, Cycle Sisters has supported thousands of women to build confidence, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and discover the freedom of travelling on two wheels. Their rides have opened doors to new friendships, reduced isolation and encouraged women to reclaim outdoor spaces that once felt inaccessible.
Many riders say joining Cycle Sisters has changed their lives — helping them feel stronger, healthier and more connected to their communities. This summer, Cycle Sisters continues its mission with friendly, supportive led‑rides across Haringey and neighbouring boroughs. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to cycling after years away, the group offers a warm welcome. Female ride leaders guide
sessions at a relaxed pace, ensuring everyone feels included. Bikes can be provided, removing barriers and making cycling accessible to all.
As Cycle Sisters enters its second decade, its impact is clear: more women cycling, more women enjoying London’s green spaces, and more women finding confidence, joy and community outdoors.
