Food for All

Nourishing Local Lives

by Go Green Team

Edible London has become one of Tottenham’s most inspiring grassroots movements, showing how food justice and community power can grow from the ground up. Founded by Sunny Karagozlu in February 2018, the organisation is built on a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. Today, Edible London works tirelessly to tackle food insecurity while building skills, confidence, and connection across Haringey.

From their base in Tottenham, the team rescues surplus produce, redistributes healthy food parcels, and runs community kitchens where neighbours can share a warm meal and a moment of togetherness. Volunteers — many of them local residents — are the heart of the operation. Their commitment helps create a culture rooted in dignity, solidarity, and sustainability.

But Edible London is more than a food project. It’s a learning hub, a growing space, and a place where people can reconnect with the land and with each other. Through training in horticulture, cooking, and environmental awareness, residents gain practical skills that support long‑term wellbeing. The organisation’s gardens and growing sites stand as living examples of what’s possible when communities reclaim land, knowledge, and agency.

At a time when many families are feeling the pressure of rising living costs, Edible London continues to be a beacon of hope and practical support. Their work shows that when a community grows together — sharing food, skills, and care — everyone thrives.

Whether you want to volunteer, learn, or receive support, Edible London welcomes you
into a movement that is nourishing Tottenham from the soil up.
